It is a fantastic MOC, I was rooting for you in one of the other Ideas discussions. Only way one could see about improving the build or making more solid, streamlined, efficient parts use or legal connections would be to see how you've built it fully because recreating it from photos requires some areas to be hypothesized or guessed. You got 10K votes on Ideas so you've reached a sort of Lego fame. Best to just not worry about that and know that if one of those terrible companies does that then the AFOL community will call them on it and you'll still get the credit from the community. ![]() If you sell instructions they may buy one and get the plans that way, if you only share pictures they'll do what the other member has already done and just reverse engineer it from the photos. BRIKSMAX Led Lighting Kit for Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V - Compatible with Lego 21309 Building Blocks Model- Not Include The Lego Set. If one of those ripoff thief companies wants it they'll take it in anyway. ![]() I'll try to get some stuff together and post it when I get a chance. I've already begun making small changes myself. I'd also like to see if others have ways of improving the build. But I'd like to post some better photos of the build so that those who want can still build it. Unused technic holes on the bricks will be used.Oh wow that looks fantastic ScottishDave! Glad you were able to piece it together! For those asking, I'd like to figure out a way to share the build without giving away the file (in case a competing company steals it). And more support towards side 3, right of the picture. Now all three "vents" are in the open area. Sort of a T structure between the "vents/exhaust holes" of the MLP. And make a few additions so it covers more. ![]() Someday I think I'll buy and replace the horizontal beams with bricks instead. So what is seen in the picture, is built in real life too. Yesterday I got the final bricks via bricklink and built it IRL, the structure seems OK. I did not have the technic bricks at home. But I'll replace my current Tail Service Masts with KingsKnights, but modify them to STS-1.įor the internal supports I'll use technic beams/bricks. I am modding Valerie Roche (Whatsuptoday) and Emmanuel Urquieta (Spacemd)¨s NASA Saturn-V Launch Umbilical Tower to Mobile Launcher Platform 1 as it was on the STS-1 launch. There's mention in this thread of a facebook group, but I the group seems to no longer exist? Should I document my changes and create an updated bricklink studio file? I'd love to hear if anyone has any further suggestions! I'm not even going to try tackling the SRB and tank plans- they look great as they are, but way out of my budget to build in the right colors! Main wings completely refactored to allow for the RCC leading edge to be placed mid-wing and look more prototypical ![]() I haven't done an actual build yet to verify everything works as expected, but I just finished a virtual build up with the following changes:Ĭleaned up cargo bay cosmetically and added mounting points for canadarm(s)Īirlock outer hatch is connected with removable pin so that additional habitat modules can be connected to airlock stay rigid in cargo bay areaĪPAS module redesigned for a tighter fit and to allow clearance for canadarm(s)Ĭanadarms now built out of bars which I feel is cosmetically better, although cannot support any real weight under gravity (just like the real thing!) I was sad to hear the "ideas" set was turned down a few years ago, and I was just revisiting my old photo-based LDD buildup of the model a last week, and realized that I had never finished implementing some of the modifications that I had done for the Shuttle Expedition set a number of years back. Thanks for posting up these directions KingsKnight!
