It is a fantastic MOC, I was rooting for you in one of the other Ideas discussions. Only way one could see about improving the build or making more solid, streamlined, efficient parts use or legal connections would be to see how you've built it fully because recreating it from photos requires some areas to be hypothesized or guessed. You got 10K votes on Ideas so you've reached a sort of Lego fame. Best to just not worry about that and know that if one of those terrible companies does that then the AFOL community will call them on it and you'll still get the credit from the community. ![]() If you sell instructions they may buy one and get the plans that way, if you only share pictures they'll do what the other member has already done and just reverse engineer it from the photos. I'd also like to see if others have ways of improving the build. But I'd like to post some better photos of the build so that those who want can still build it. Unused technic holes on the bricks will be used.Oh wow that looks fantastic ScottishDave! Glad you were able to piece it together! For those asking, I'd like to figure out a way to share the build without giving away the file (in case a competing company steals it). And more support towards side 3, right of the picture. Now all three "vents" are in the open area. Sort of a T structure between the "vents/exhaust holes" of the MLP. And make a few additions so it covers more. ![]() Someday I think I'll buy and replace the horizontal beams with bricks instead. So what is seen in the picture, is built in real life too. Yesterday I got the final bricks via bricklink and built it IRL, the structure seems OK. I did not have the technic bricks at home. But I'll replace my current Tail Service Masts with KingsKnights, but modify them to STS-1.įor the internal supports I'll use technic beams/bricks. I'd love to hear if anyone has any further suggestions! I'm not even going to try tackling the SRB and tank plans- they look great as they are, but way out of my budget to build in the right colors! Main wings completely refactored to allow for the RCC leading edge to be placed mid-wing and look more prototypical ![]() I haven't done an actual build yet to verify everything works as expected, but I just finished a virtual build up with the following changes:Ĭleaned up cargo bay cosmetically and added mounting points for canadarm(s)Īirlock outer hatch is connected with removable pin so that additional habitat modules can be connected to airlock stay rigid in cargo bay areaĪPAS module redesigned for a tighter fit and to allow clearance for canadarm(s)Ĭanadarms now built out of bars which I feel is cosmetically better, although cannot support any real weight under gravity (just like the real thing!) I was sad to hear the "ideas" set was turned down a few years ago, and I was just revisiting my old photo-based LDD buildup of the model a last week, and realized that I had never finished implementing some of the modifications that I had done for the Shuttle Expedition set a number of years back. Thanks for posting up these directions KingsKnight!

We see them viewed from differing angles from down in the gutter, and drifting up into the celestial firmament. It is a forensic and poetic examination of a modern America in love with the myth of itself.Īt the big beating heart of these songs is the voice and conscience of the city. “There was an outdoor shower with no curtain and deer ran through the front yard during the meals we cooked for each other.” The record was completed with Richard Swift in Oregon (producer of Foxygen, sometime member of The Black Keys).įrom the widescreen opening of ‘Come To Me Now’ through the bubblegum stomp of the Ramones-eulogising ‘1-2-3-4’ (which also references late poet Jim Carroll’s litany of friends lost, ‘People Who Died’), a stripped-back and wistful cover of ‘Caught In My Eye’ by nihilistic LA punk wrecking crew Germs and on to Leonard Cohen-evoking closer ‘Downtown’s Lights’, City Music reads like a selection of musical postcards composed and posted in the moment. “The language of a musical family,” explains Morby. Six weeks of European touring had left the trio speaking a secret language that only a band can speak. Here the vocals were at recorded night, in darkness, overlooking a Pacific Ocean illuminated only by the stars, the wash and whisper of the ebbing tidal a distant soundtrack. Recording at Panoramic Studios, a central Californian home-turned-recording studio, City Music saw Morby joined once again by former The Babies cohorts Megan Duffy (guitar) and Justin Sullivan (drums). “His every worldly possession hitched to his back, an eye constantly fixed on some faraway point on the horizon.” “It’s easy to picture Morby with a wineskin under his arm,” noted a Pitchfork review. Morby’s 2013 debut solo work Harlem River was a homage to New York and featured contributions from artists including Cate Le Bon and Tim Presley (of White Fence), while 2014’s Still Life garnered universal critical praise. Two albums and a clutch of classic singles with the latter followed. Morby rose to prominence as bassist in Woods, with who he recorded seven albums on Woodsist Records (Kurt Vile, The Oh Sees, Real Estate) while also forming The Babies with Cassie Ramone of Vivian Girls. “Stretched out on a living room floor they are somewhere in mid-70s Manhattan, also smoking cigarettes.” It finds Morby exploring similar themes of solitude, but this time framed by a window of an uptown apartment that looks down upon an international urban landscape “exposed like a giant bleeding wound.” “Here, Lou Reed and Patti Smith stare out at the listener,” explains Morby. It is an collection crafted using the other side of its creator’s brain, the jumping off point perhaps best once again encapsulated by an image. They live here, in this left side of my brain, smoking cigarettes and playing acoustic guitars while lying on an unmade bed.”Īnd now follows City Music, the yang to its yin, the heads to its tails. It was imagined as “an old bookshelf with a young Bob and Joni staring back at me, blank and timeless. His fourth album, City Music works as a counterpart to Morby’s acclaimed 2016 release Singing Saw, an autobiographical set that reflected the solitude and landscape in which it was recorded. As he puts it: “It is a mix-tape, a fever dream, a love letter dedicated to those cities that I cannot get rid of, to those cities that are all inside of me.” Full of listless wanderlust, it’s a collection inspired by and devoted to the metropolitan experience across America and beyond by a songwriter cast from his own mould. Surely, all the stereo a 15 year old would ever need? I never bought 8-Tracks, but made the occasional "mix 8-Track " just because I could. 1978 AM/FM, crappy turntable and cassette recorder with an 8-track player/recorder. But my first stereo was an all-in-one from Sears ca. I was a vinyl snob as a youth always buy the best quality "master." I only bought about a dozen pre-recorded cassettes (all tape only releases) ever. I never really bought into 8-track too much. I once sold some Quad-8 tapes to a guy in Japan ( Isao Tomita, of course!). I bet people sell them to enthusiasts on eBay. So, let’s remember the humble 8-Track tape. Suzuki last November – and I finally got a CD player in my car – familiar story – it’s “in-dash” and would cost a small fortune to get my MD put into Mr. And, for me, Sony Mini-disc replaced cassette (in my car) – until I got Mr. If it was a reverse-able deck, you can bet one of the directions would no longer work, after a few years. I think I kept the Can one…and the Zappas…īut car cassette players weren’t all that amazing, either. He asked, and it didn’t look possible to replace it with a then-popular cassette deck…so he offered to buy all of my weirdo 8-Track tapes off of me. Once of my friends got a great big American car used – in the mid-80’s. Phil at Starship in Oklahoma asked us something like, “None of that Ryuichi Sakamoto comes on 8-Track, does it?” In the early 80’s, when I changed jobs and worked for an early importer / exporter, I remember people asking us for 8-Tracks. My first record store job, starting in ’76 – the 8-Track tape was still being stocked and sold at the hippie record store. When the 8-Track started going away, it was possible to find them as “cut-outs” for $2 - $5 in record stores, towards the end of the 70’s. I had even found some oddball 8-Track tapes: The Soft Machine, some Frank Zappa titles etc. After the 8-Track recorder quit functioning properly, we had moved on to Sony cassette decks in the house – TC-161SD! But for the car? 8-Track seemed like a good choice. ![]() My first car came in ’76 or shortly thereafter – and I first went for 8-Track tapes instead of cassettes. But the Panasonic recorder definitely got hooked into dad’s ‘hi-fi set-up’. ![]() We may even have had another ‘home deck’ to play 8-Track tapes on – the forerunner of a ‘bookshelf stereo’. It didn’t take long before I (we?) talked my dad into buying a recording 8-Track machine – probably about 1970 or so. OK, the sound quality wasn’t tops – but it was easier to handle than the reel-to-reel deck. It is a neat idea – a small loop of tape with numerous ‘tracks’ on it, where you can switch almost effortlessly to 4 different ‘programs’. I think she liked Mick Jagger – maybe just his hair style of 1968? Or perhaps she thought that “Mother’s Little Helper” was amusing? Mom always liked the Stones. We got an 8-Track tape of “Flowers” by The Rolling Stones, and mom drove around listening to that (she would’ve been almost 50 years old then). 1968, when my mother’s new car had an 8-Track tape player in it. ![]() I know RM/Husky are the same in many models, but there are usually enough differences to warrant using the same engines etc, but offering the changes in comfort features. I have not noticed a huge difference in the 2 cycle, but I can tell when I use 87, 89 or 93 octane gas. I think some brands being bought by other manu's do get hurt, but that is not my experience with RM equipment so far. I might feel that way about certain equipment at times myself due to good luck etc, but that simply doesn't make it a fact, but only my experience during that period of time. Thus, for the comparison to make sense, we must consider the bare tool weight of the LB6504. ![]() I highly recommend it to anyone needing or wanting a new trimmer.Īs far as older RM vs newer.some guys had good luck with equipment bought during a certain time period and naturally assume that was the best stuff made. You can get a lemon from any manu, and I just happened to get one. This one has been flawless and is my all time favorite trimmer. I won't go back over all that here again, but after a year, I took it back, the dealer gave me a choice of anything in the same price range and I decided to try another 260 just because it was what I really wanted in the first place due to power and balance etc. ![]() I have one and it's an excellent all-around trimmer.Like I have posted numerous times, my first RM 260S was a lemon from the jump. The ones with the new upgraded driveshaft have the black line installed from the factory and the old ones had the old orange Crossfire line installed, that's how you tell the difference.Īlso you would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not check out the Stihl FS94R. And if you decide to go that route, make sure you get one that's got the black trimmer string on the head. I have had a husqvarna trimmer for a little over a year and so far it runs like a champ. regardless of size though which are easier, cheaper to fix and have cheaper maintenance products (i.e. In my opinion it's only good for those that like to run really long string without a guard. Stihl's seem to have slightly larger engines but shorter warranty's. If you do use a guard you would be turning way too many RPMs with the torque head. The 525LS will turn 9400 RPM with 8" of line. I don't use a guard and I like the trimmer line (.095) to be around 8" or so. If you're not running a guard and you don't run your string 10 inches or more out the head, I would get the non torque version. I don't have any experience with the Redmax trimmer but I do have the Husky 525LS. ![]() The upgrade is now an “Update” and will not download the full installer app if you are on Monterey 12.3 or newer.
